Bugsy from Troy, Ohio took second for the second consecutive week. Stella Louise from Lebanon, Ohio posted a third place finish in the Frankfurters. Due to a scoring error that counted points from a couple extra races in our first event of the season, the championship points for the Frankfurters have been corrected. Only the first four heat races run for each dog should have been counted. Two additional heat race points were counted originally giving “extra” points to dogs in the Frankfurters at Monroe, MI’s Bark For Life event on 9/13. This only affected a few dogs in the Frankfurter class only. The corrected points are now posted on the Championship Points page.
Congratulations to Jerry Lee Leaper who picked up his second consecutive first place finish in the Frankfurters this past weekend and Bentley who took the top honors in the Bratwurst.
Jerry Lee Leaper from Toledo earned a 29 point lead in the Wiener Dog Nationals Championship Point Standings with his win headed into this weekend’s final event at Oakshade Raceway. Bugsy Troy, Ohio won the second place trophy and Larry from Perrysburg, Ohio was third in the Frankfurters.
Shelly remains atop the Bratwurst division with a 9 point advantage over Bentley who finished in first on Saturday. Rosie from Sylvania, Ohio was second and Doc from Erie, Michigan transferred into the finals from the last chance race and took home the third place trophy. Shelly was the first place winner at the last event, but could only manage a fourth place finish this time.

Oscar matched his best performance of the day with a second place finish. Sandy was third and McGee had an off race and finished fourth.
The Championship points have been updated and reflect a close race among the competitors in the Bratwurst division with Shelly nursing a five point advantage over both Sandy and McGee. Jerry Lee Leaper earned a four point advantage over Banjo in the Frankfurters.
